‘Temple Squares’ performing free concert in Midvale
The Midvale Arts Council will present a free concert on Friday, Oct. 14, 7:30 p.m. at the Midvale Performing Arts Center, 695 West Center Street (7720 South). The concert will feature “The Temple Squares.”
They are a Midvale country-bluegrass band who cover hits from “Ring of Fire” and “I'll Fly Away” to “Country Roads” and “Walkin' After Midnight.” Leading the group is Jeff Rickard on lead guitar, mandolin, vocals, and snappy mid-set patter. His day job is with UTA, and he and his wife Connie call Midvale home.
Paige Moore brings banjo and vocals to the table. She is a stay-at-home-mom to two children and they, along with her husband Brent, are proud to be Midvalians.
Chris Larsen, a UTA bus driver by day, is the amazing bass (and banjo and dobro) guy. He lives in Cottonwood Heights, but considers Midvale a second home. Shawn Crosgrove and his wife Lori and three kids moved from Midvale to Riverton, but they keep coming back. If you haven't seen his dance moves, you really haven't lived.
Lyndzi Elsmore adds vocals and percussion, along with a whole lot of class and style. She works at Mountain America Credit Union, and she, along with her husband Jake and soon-to-be-born daughter, loves living in Midvale. Rick Olofson, also with the UTA, is the most recent Square. He brings some amazing rhythm guitar and lead licks.
This will be a fun evening of entertainment for the whole family and neighborhood.
