Eastern Strings & Western Airs – Vietnamese National Concert coming to UCCC

The Utah Cultural Celebration Center proudly presents a unique blending of traditional Eastern and Western music with a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience.

Everyone is invited to come and experience traditional Vietnamese music blended with Western music, free of charge Saturday, Nov. 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the UCCC, 1355 West 3100 South.

Traditional Vietnamese music by master musicians Hoang Co Thuy, Nguyen Xuan Yen (both visiting from Viet Nam) and Lan Nguyen (now a U.S. citizen), blended with Western musicians and airs. The Lac Viet Band and a Western ensemble led by Clive Romney join to produce a once-in-a-lifetime musical event that ties together two diverse worlds. Dan Tranh, Ti Ba and Erhu join guitar, bass and fiddle to speak the universal language.
