Red Mountain Builders doesn’t just build custom homes, it builds dream homes. Its new subdivision located near 1755 East Topps Lane (2855 South) near Highland Park Elementary gives its customers the chance to have a fully customized home in the Sugar House/Canyon Rim area. Partners Rod Folkerson and Mark Stephenson are there to help buyers with all aspects, from purchasing the property to building the home.

Mark is the building side of the partnership and is on site making sure the homes are built to Red Mountain’s strict standards while Rod, who is the exclusive agent for the subdivision with Chapman Richards and Associates Real Estate, helps buyers with purchasing the home.

“These homes are all upgraded with high quality finishes and fixtures,” Rod says. “Even the more entry level home contains upper end finishes. Red Mountain isn’t your typical builder – we’re clearly different and unique.”

For more than 11 years, Red Mountain has been building homes all over the valley and providing customers with beautiful homes built to their specifications. Most of the homes built during this time have had a price tag starting at $500,000 and going up to $2 million. Rod says Mark brings the same high quality work and finishes to this project at a much more affordable cost.

Mark describes the project as a “mountain contemporary look that’s becoming popular around the country.” The homes feature more natural elements like stone and timber. The look has a clean, simple finish that stands out among other homes, Mark says.

The homes have 2,100 square feet of finished space, a three-car garage and a 1,700-square-foot unfinished basement. The homes Red Mountain builds are customizable to clients’ specifications to truly make the home their own.

“Mark has a tremendous ability to visualize the end product and step outside of the box,” Rod says. “He always goes above and beyond what most builders do. He’s proud of what he does and that shows in his end product.”

There are three homes already built in the subdivision and one of them is currently for sale. New construction projects like Red Mountain’s are rarely seen on the east side of the valley, which makes this project unique. Rod says this new development will probably entice buyers who live in the area already but want to move up to a new home without having to leave the area.

“We have a product that will satisfy everyone,” Rod says.

After a buyer purchases the lot, Red Mountain will work with them on finding the right house plan for the family and the lot. Red Mountain has an architect that can draw up a new home plan or modify existing plans to fit the lot. Buyers may also choose their own plans.
